Morgan Community Mile is a university-community partnership where residents, businesses, public officials, and other stakeholders come together with Morgan’s faculty, students, and staff to make the surrounding communities a better place. Morgan acknowledges the strength and diversity in its surrounding communities and leverages our skills and knowledge, academic research, and community engagement activities to improve and sustain the quality of life in Northeast Baltimore.
When SNAP! amplifies the creative power of arts and culture between GNCA neighborhoods as a catalyst for action, “neighbors” will be ready to engage social service organizations with arts-based interventions that will respond to the five priority areas of MCM:
- Health and public safety
- Youth development
- The environment
- Economic impacts of living, working and spending in the community
- Strengthening University and community relations.
Because the project will draw its strength from inter-generational collaboration, the Morgan community, cultural animation of outdoor spaces, wellness initiatives and cross-sector partnerships, all five priority areas will receive strong attention.
Specific NEWS about our partnership will be posted here and our BLOG. Stay tuned!
